面影－The Shadow on the Face

この作品は３つの変形パネルから構成されており、実際に見ると表面の金属的な質は、水蒸気で曇った鏡のようでもある。１つのパーツだけ手前に傾いており、それは能面の傾きがその心理的な表情をつくることのイメージから発想している。その為タイトルは文字通り「面影」としている。もう１つの「面影－Traces of Hands」という鏡と砂を使った作品も同じ名詞を使っているのは、同時期に制作していて、同じ傾きを利用した作品であること、影の表現、もしくは不在のものの残像のようなイメージを持っている為である。
This work is composed of three deformed panels, and when viewed in person, the metallic quality of the surface resembles a mirror clouded with water vapor. Only one part is tilted forward, this is because that inspired by the image of how the tilt of a Noh (Japanese traditional theater, Noh Play) mask creates its psychological expression. For this reason, the title is literally "The shadow of the face." The other work, "Omokage-The Shadow on the Face," which uses mirrors and sand, also uses the same noun, this is because the two works were created around the same time, utilize the same tilt, and have the image of expressing shadows or the afterimage of something that is absent.
